"A great prayer for life is urgently needed, a prayer which will rise up throughout the world. Through special initiatives and in daily prayer, may an impassioned plea rise to God, the Creator and lover of life, from every Christian community, from every group and association, from every family and from the heart of every believer.”

 – Pope John Paul II, The Gospel of Life (Evangelium Vitae), n. 100.

“Human life must always be defended from its beginning in the womb and must be recognized as a gift of God that guarantees the future of humanity.”

The purpose of this ministry is to put our faith into action in support of preserving the “Gift of Life”  through prayer, knowledge and commitment.

O   Open your heart and mind

L   Listen and love

I    Instill in others a desire to do good works

F   Follow God's plan

E   Engage in activities that support the gift of life.

Some activities our ministry has undertaken to support the Gift of Life:

  • Prayer - We ask our members to pray on their own and sometimes we gather together to pray in front of abortion centers in Broward County.  We know that all things are possible and attainable through prayer.  For Pro Life prayers, novenas, etc., click HERE.

  • Education - We have brought great speakers to our parish to educate or SCWC membership and parishioners about Pro Life issues.

  • Donations - We have made donations of diapers and baby supplies to help struggling young mothers and and have collected pocket change through our Baby Bottle Drive in December (get a bottle, fill it up with change and return it after mass or at our meeting) to support activities of our local Respect Life office. In addition, we donate/collect unwrapped baby items for our Newborn Baby Shower in March (donate items at Mass for newborns - unwrapped  list of item will be provided.)

  • Volunteer - Some of our ladies have received training and have volunteered to support women in crisis pregnancy situations.

  • Support - As part of our pro-life mission, some of our ladies have made donations to and/or will be attending the Central Broward Respect Life Pregnancy Help Center's Annual Respect Life Luncheon. (For more info on the luncheon, click HERE)  We feel it is vital to formally acknowledge the Center's incredible acts of mercy (which are many), and to support its mission of preserving life, which include providing ongoing counseling, education and various forms of assistance to the women and men of our community.
