COMMISSION PURPOSE:

The purpose of this commission is to deepen our faith and promote fellowship through reading and discussion of thought provoking literature.

DESCRIPTION:

Once a year we select two (2) books to read and then spend time learning together through meaningful dialogue.

This Year we have chosen the following books to explore:

         


"Heaven is for Real: A Little Boy's
Astounding Story of His Trip
to Heaven and Back" 
by Todd Burpo 

This year's first "Popular Selection" is an inspiring book by a Christian minister, whose 4 year-old son describes his experience in heaven during a near death experience...  Prepare to be enlightened and amazed by this true story!!!   

"Padre Pio's Words of Hope" 
by Eileen Dunn Bertanzetti

For a more scriptural focus, with beautiful illustrations and topics ranging from simple queries about the role of angels to the cry of a soul seeking to understand the meaning of suffering, these meditations use the actual words of Saint Padre Pio to answer your most intimate questions and reveal God's own messages of encouragement, exhortation, inspiration, and blessing.
